Vincenzo Aucella, Maestro d’Arte e Mestiere 2022
A recognition that rewards the uniqueness, creativity, elegance and know-how of authentic Italian craftsmanship. This is MAM - Maestro d'Arte e Mestiere award that is awarded every two years by the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art in Milan.
On 4 October the ceremony took place in the evocative setting of Palazzo Litta and our Vincenzo received this significant award, reaching an important milestone for the continuous and significant commitment in the processing of coral and cameo, helping to carry on a tradition of family, now in its fourth generation, and an activity that has made the town of Torre del Greco unique in the world.

All this is possible thanks to his careful research and deep knowledge of the ancient art of coral and cameo processing. Vincenzo stands out today in the world of artistic craftsmanship, for a significant experience in the sector, extraordinary for a young man, who was able to identify the contemporary aspects that make coral and cameo creations fascinating, passing from the procurement of precious stones to the selection of materials, up to the finished product.
The Maestro d’Arte e Mestiere award
The Master Vincenzo Aucella was thus included in the Libro d’Oro dell’Eccellenza Artigiana Italiana 2022, a precious artifact on which he affixed his signature, like the other Maestri d'Arte e Mestiere who preceded him and will follow him, bringing thus the name Aucella among the “Living Treasures”.
This year the award has reached its fourth edition and is proposed as a thank you to the many "intelligent hands" that enrich our Italy and make Made in Italy enviable in the world. Creators of creative intelligence, who make themselves worthy heirs of the Renaissance lesson.
The title of "Maestro d’Arte" therefore intends to enhance the extraordinary work of the protagonists of Italian artistic craftsmanship, bringing true excellence to the attention of the general public and the media, which successfully preserve a priceless heritage of art.
